Description
Scientific Name: Prunus americana
American plum can be single or multi-stemmed, usually between 10 and 25 feet tall. It produces white flowers in spring and small tart plums in the fall. American plum is fast growing and can spread quickly, forming dense, thorny thickets if not controlled. It prefers sandy to loam soil and can tolerate moderate flooding and drought. This tolerance for varied conditions makes American plum climate-ready.
