Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea)

Balsam Fir are frequently grown as Christmas trees due to their symmetrical, slender, pyramid shape. Their needles are short and flat but soft and fragrant. The Balsam Fir thrives in cool, damp places with moist upland soils. It has large, upright cones. While preferring full sun, this tree is also tolerant of some shade.
