WATER MANAGMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (WMAC)
It is the mission of the Mille Lacs County Local Water Management Plan Advisory Committee to promote responsible stewardship of water resources through accountable use of land, forest and other natural assets by providing education, incentives, and collaboration with individuals, groups and government entities.
The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to:

 Develop
and implement the goals and objectives outlined in the Mille Lacs County
Local Water Management Plan. | |
| Provide information to the public related to water resources. | |
| Fund and implement projects to monitor and protect water resources. | |
| Advise and support appropriate governmental agency efforts to promote sustainable land-use practices related to the protection of water resources. |

What can I do?
Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public and participation of the general public is encouraged. Quarterly meetings are held the Mille Lacs Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) office, 1016 5th Street SE, Milaca, MN 56353, just east of the Dairy Queen along Hwy 23. Contact the SWCD for scheduled meeting dates and times.

Notice of Decision to Revise and Update the Local Water Management Plan January 9, 2012 at 7:00pm, there will be a Public Hearing of proposed plan updates during the Planning Commission meeting to be held at the Mille Lacs County Courthouse, Commissioners Room January 17, 2012 at 10:00am, the Mille Lacs County Water Management Advisory Committee (WMAC) will be meeting to review edits proposed during the Public Hearing conducted on January 9, 2012.
